Student Information Systems Coordinator

About the Student Information Systems Coordinator Position: The Student Information Systems Coordinator supports data collection, quality, systems implementation, and maintenance and supports reporting on school culture and academic data and non-academic data for the region. This role reports to the Managing Director of Data and Information Technology.

Role Responsibilities and More About How You’ll Spend Your Time in this Role 

Professional Responsibilities 

Believe deeply in the mission, values, and Race, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (RIDE) commitments of KIPP Colorado Schools and that all children can and will learn
Assume personal responsibility for student achievement 

Read, internalize, and adhere to the KIPP Colorado Policies and Procedures manual and guidelines 

Provide an active presence, strategic supervision, and intentional monitoring to ensure student safety and engagement in rigorous learning (regardless of my role and its proximity to students) 

Take ownership for the development of your craft and engage actively in coaching sessions (meet 1-2 times every 1 or 2 weeks (depending on need and role) with a manager, receive coaching, implement all provided feedback, engage in active practice, etc.) 

Commit to being prepared. Such as: internalizing and preparing for lessons, preparing for O3s/coaching, preparing for meetings, coaching, PD, reading and internalizing written communication, etc.

Meet professional obligations including and not limited to meeting deadlines and honoring schedules 

Consistently leverage existing professional tools, including but not limited to Google Suite (google documents, etc.) and Microsoft Suite (including but not limited to your KIPP Colorado email, Teams chat / meetings, Teams phone, and Microsoft Outlook calendar) 

Maintain strong attendance each day and be on time to all responsibilities
Collaborate with colleagues and seek feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement
Reflect on professional practices to meet individual professional development goals
Actively participate in professional development, grade level, and department meetings
Actively engage and implement in all school-wide and Org wide professional development
Serve as a positive, contributing member of a grade team or functional team, 

collaborating with colleagues to tackle common challenges and implement org and grade-wide initiatives 

Share candid, solutions-oriented feedback with peers and leadership on a regular basis, assuring that feedback is shared directly with the intended recipient. Ensure that feedback is focused on improving outcomes and experiences for students 

Assist with both student and staff recruitment and engagement- including events, home visits, calls home, and other determined and related requirements 

Know that your role, professional development, org wide meetings, etc. may require you to travel around Denver to other KIPP Campuses, our Home Office, or other KIPP or PD events 

Assist with other duties as assigned (such as but not limited to, lunch duty, arrival/dismissal duty, bathroom duty, hallway duty, school support duties, etc.) 

Data Processes 

Data systems implementation and maintenance: Data systems are implemented and maintained to ensure schools and staff can access them and all issues are resolved within 24 hours 

Data quality: Schools are implementing use of data systems with fidelity, inputting 100% data regularly and accurately 

Data reporting: Internal and external data reports are produced accurately and on-time and support organizational decision-making 

Data privacy: System for student data privacy is strong and in compliance with local and federal laws 

Data Audits: Core data systems are routinely audited to ensure all data remains in compliance with Denver Public Schools, KIPP Colorado, and federal requirements
Capacity-building: A self-sufficient data inputting and reporting model is implemented across the region, where staff can more easily and independently use data to drive decision-making 

Data Systems 

Maintains knowledge of Infinite Campus (IC), Clever, Illuminate, and other data systems specific to KIPP Colorado 

Manages planning for, implementation of, and use of school-based data systems
Forecasts schools’ system license, support, and infrastructure needs and communicates with vendors as needed 

Organizes reporting for some external organizations 

Plans and manages data quality control processes, including audits 

Coordinates documentation of data collection, management, and integration processes
Supports schools in reporting for report cards, progress reports, gradebooks, and school culture data 

Understands data privacy laws and policies and implements aligned systems support

Employs professional learning and coaching best practices in support and capacity-building of school-based and regional staff 

Analyzes culture and non-academic data for schools and regional staff
Oversee Identity Access Management (IAM) for Infinite Campus and core academic platforms and systems to ensure accurate access levels are maintained for users based on role type. 

Train and assist district personnel at all levels on the proper and correct use and access of Infinite Campus systems advanced features 

Maintain documentation of security infrastructure related to Infinite Campus to ensure accurate retrieval of data for reporting purposes 

Maintain confidentiality of all system access and user requests 

Maintain documentation of core workstreams based on retention policies and procedures
Adhere to all current security access policies and procedures 

Assist with testing and verification of SIS vendor software updates prior to release to production 

Assist with troubleshooting reported system issues and reporting issues to vendor if needed 

Assist all areas of Information Systems support staff by providing phone coverage and user support as needed

High school diploma (required) 

Bachelor’s degree (preferred) 

At least 1-3 years of relevant and aligned experience (required)

Competitive Market Salary: Starting salary for this role begins at $61,200 and is commensurate with experience
